Camiguin Island

Zero crime rate island.
Full of Lanzones and nice people.

We just took a bus going to the port it was about 200 Php
then paid 150Php for the boat going to the Island.
It took us around 30 minutes boat rid.

Visited:
White Island
one of the tourist spot. cost 20Php for the roro boat :)

Sunken Cemetery.
The Sunken Cemetery of Camiguin Island marks the swept remains of the island’s rested locals. Driven underwater when Mt. Vulcan Daan erupted in 1870’s, the large cross has served the town's people, as well as the tourists, a scenic spot to memorialize the departed's buried there.

 Old Church Ruins

Swim. Swim. Swim
Cold SpringHot Spring
and finally  the breath taking Waterfalls :)

Cagayan de Oro

Mindanao, is one of the 3 parts of the Philippine and finally i made it here!
I along with my fellow colleagues in Medicine decided to go on this Mindanao adventure. Thanks to the invitation of my dear friend Raiza, our accomodation is for FREE and this just made our trip much even better.
It was a 3 days 2 night trip. Where our main stay is Cagayan de Oro.
It was an early flight. Like 3am in the morning! And due to the bad weather, we experienced some slight turbulence which just pretty much scared the hell out of me. It was an hour flight from Manila. Arrived safely though at 5am, it was raining hard as we head to Raiza’s place.

Look how pretty tired we are!

On our first Itenerary for the day:
ZIPLINE.

And this is believed to be well-known as the Longest Zipline in Asia!

WATER RAFTING.
Here we were on our way to the water rafting, hosted by the Kayag.
From the house, rode the jeepney along some other toursit.
Arrived on the river that divides Cagayan de oro and Bukidnon.
we took the Advance course. [Brave!]
3 boats with 4 staff. 3 captains, and 1 who will take pictures of us along the adventure.
after the Orientation! Here we are on the boat!

At the end of the Water rafting!

And I must say! After the whole wild river rafting and conquering the rapids! This is a must try experience even just once in your lifetime to do this! You might think its a scary thing to do. But take the risk.
I can assure that it is safe. You don't have to worry much because the captains will guide and make sure everyone will work together as a team.

Cool wild water rafting experience!
absolutely FUN!

WTC 9/11

This day reminded me of the 9-11 attack at New York
Its hard to believe that it's already been a decade since that tragedy happened.

Here is a picture I scanned,
and this was the Twin Towers of the WTC
This photo was taken on March 2001

and months after my visit
early morning on September 11, 2001
The 9-11 attack happened that made the whole world terrified.

According to Wikipedia, it was a series of four coordinated suicide attacks by the terrorist from Al-Qaeda wherein they hijacked four jets. They intentionally hit the Twin towers of the World Trade Center in NYC, and both towers collapsed within two hours.

This destruction caused serious damage to Manhattan.
Innocent lives were lost, families looking for their loved ones, a daughter left alone, and a Wife facing parenthood on her own.

When I decided to visit, I thought of the seeing the Twin Towers which is now the Ground Zero.

and this was how it looked:

As you can see on the photo I wasn't able to get a good view of how deep it was.

The whole area was under construction.
The entire place was surrounded by metal barrier and as I look down, it was like a deep hole of emptiness.
I can't hardly see the engineers who were working on the construction site.
and I just stared blankly.
It was like a heavy feeling of sadness...

There was this store just in front the WTC site, along Church St., NYC
They open it to the public for viewing of the 9/11 WTC Tragedy
showed some short clips of victims, the survivors, and the plans and architectural designs to put up the National September 11 Memorial & Museum

Inside the Memorial where the plans of building up a National Museum on the very same site where the Twin Towers Collapsed and this store contains souvenirs, books, maps, key chains, pens---name it.
And all the profit will be for the foundation of the construction.

The Cleanup of the WTC site started back 2002

The WTC Memorial Foundation began its heavy construction on the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
The site where the Twin Tower collapsed will be the same site of the museum.
It was said that the memorial will be open on this very day.
and the the museum will open on 2012
here is the link for more details about it:
http://www.911memorial.org/

by the next time I visit NYC, I will surely see the National Septemberr 11 Memorial & Museum
and this would remind us that the 9/11 attack happened and would be able to share to the next generation.

Guimaras, IloIlo

DAY 1
Woke up 7am
Grace drove til we passed by 711 to buy stuffs and crackers
Michael is now on the wheels and he just love my cute mini-celerio

Arrived at Terminal 3 NAIA airport. parked in the overnight parking.
Went straight to the check-in lady at counter21
Gave tickets, I.D, & credit card :)
boarding pass on hand.
Paid 200 for the terminal fee.
Second screening again where boys and girls have to fall in line
Took of gadgets, footwear and bags
Posed here and there for picture taking.

The lady officer warned us nicely
We didn't know it wasnt allowed to take pictures. So you better not do it!!
Erased the pictures. Bummer.
And finally we are Cleared!! yay!! :D

Stop over the food area to grab something to eat
Mike ate hotdogs at Chip-stead.
We girls went to Chow to go.
Grace and I tried the chicken rice toppings, it comes with s soup cost us 300pesos.
Both of us shared a bottled water which cost 50pesos.
Pricey! I know!
So I suggest better buy food outside the airport.
Coz everything in the airport is expensive.
When we were done, off we waited at gate120. Took pictures and more pictures.

At 10:20 am,boarded to the Plane
Sat way at the back 27 B,C,D
We met a saudia airline Pilot, who sat next to Michael.
Mr, Adel Hussain from Jeddah which was a coincidence!

Miss Grace was pissed fr the Pilot guy who kept on staring dirty on her. Lol.

Slept throughout the flight
Woke up due to the turbulence.
The turbulence of the flight gave us the FINAL DESTINATION creepy feeling
Haha.
The entire flight if I'l rate it would be a 5 cause for multiple resons:
1.They made us walk outside when it was raining
2. Eventually, they made us come back inside
3. bad landing Mr. Airphil pilot
4. No freebies
5. No games
6. :0
Okay imma stop complaining.

finally, we LANDED TO THE CITY OF ILOILO
:)
Got off the plane, took our bags.
Rode the 50pesos van heading to SM city Iloilo
Transferred to a cab and head off to the pier.
Saw University of Visaysa, st. Paul Iloilo, assumption Iloilo
Arrived at the pier.
Payed the taxi guy 120pesos

At the pier, went to the ticket office, fall in line,
Took the 14pesos/head worth of tickets to Guimaras via boat.
Registered our names, waited for the boat to arrive.
Got in the boat, sat in front. It was 40 seating capacity kinda boat.

It was a 15min sea sick experience going to the island of guimaras.
Arrived at Guimaras Island feeling dizzy but safe :)
Randomly called beach resorts that are open to accommodate us.

Contacted mam Baby at BARAS BEACH RESORT
She recommended that we should take the tricycle and so we did
And it was a Long hard bumpy tricycle ride that made our butts hurt for 40min
Shell out 250 for the tricycle (dang expensive!)

As we got to the spot,
Unexpectedly due to the bad weather
We had to walk all the way till the end
So we Hiked 1km 'till we reached the resort
It wasn't easy as you think
It was a bit rainy and windy so that's a good thing it wasn't hot.
But along the way the path was like we have to go into the jungle of nowhere and there were sharp rocks, slippery, muddy.
Grace can't help thinking that a Snake might bite(tuklaw) her
Mike complained about his shoes
And I'm just having a great time enjoying walking into the jungle. And I swear it wasn't easy.

As we got to the end of the hike, we end up in an amazing place.

No words can describe how beautiful it was.
There where like a lot of islands and in between were white sand beaches
Guimaras is the place where you can just appreciate nature and get away from the city life.

 Great first day!

DAY2
Breakfast at 9am
Had our continental breakfast

Swim!! Swim!! Swim!!
And picture posing every place

After the swim we took a bath
Ate lunch around 2pm
Ordered grilled chicken
Some lemonade on the side

While waiting, we thought of hiking
Into the forest of the island
Then we decided to go back for the food and stayed at the sea side
Enjoyed the view and the waves of the ocean.

After lunch we took a bath
Picture taking some more by the cliff of our house
Then decided to go on paddling on the mini boat
Thru team effort we made it going to the other end of the island

we even managed to go to the mahogany
Grace kept on asking what we learned in our Hekasi
So I will go on search on that

After that kuya Mike showed us to the other end of BARAS island
Too bad we didnt knew that we have a cliff diving here!!
But the strong waves of the ocean was another reason why it's dangerous to go diving
So maybe another reason to come back here in BARAS is to do the cliff diving

DAY3
departure day!
we thought of leaving early as 6am due to the long travel from the Island to Iloilo
as expected we reached the tricycle by 7am
arrived in an hour at the same pier

took us 15min travel time.
looked for cheap taxi but this time 250pesos going to the airport

Oh boy! we early birds!! we arrived 9am
checkin opens at 10am
so we just waited and until we checked in for our flight back home in MANILA :) yay!

here we are on our seats ready to fly back to Manila

All i can say the people are really nice and accomodating
they really checked if we enjoyed
It was fun to experience such unplanned trip
Waiting for our flight :)
