Jeepney Transfer (Baguio to DENR).

Going up to DENR was a lot zigzag roads. I personally sat upfront the Jeepney since i can't stand the long drive. we stopped over a canteen where some of other treams with us had breakfast. Comfort rooms are available. They sell coffee and other foods available.

Ascend (Ranger to Camp2)

At the Ranger station, you will see a lot of Locals. All are very kind and helpful. It started raining 5pm good thing we have our rain coats with us. 2 hour trek and finally rain went down. you can appreciate the nature and fantastic view of rice fields, carrot fields, and see the wild berries too.

Camp 2

Putting up the tent was easy since tour guide will assist you and since it was dark good thing all my team brought sufficient flash lights for the evening. It was already getting cold but you can feel the rewarding feeling of finally having the luxury to rest and enjoy the cold breeze of the Mountain.

Summit.

Up at 3:30am ready for the Summit. Only 2 of our teams decided to bring the bag and are in-charge of water & food.

Budget:

P2,000
for a group of 8-12 (>15pax: P1,700)
includes Jeepney transfer, DENR Registration, Ranger Registration, Cultural Fee,

P300
includes Lunch + Dinner for Day 1
Breakfast + Lunch for Day 2

P500
for porter fee 20kg (they will weigh at the Ranger area)
additional P20.00 per kg when you exceed the 20kg limit.

Clothing.

  • 5 layers of clothing:
    • Shirt, Long sleeves, Sweater, Jacket, & Wind breaker
  • 2 pairs of pants, bonnets , gloves, 2 pairs of socks & scarf
These are highly recommended cold season especially during Jan-March
during my hike it reached about 11 degrees at Camp 2. During the night, it gets more worse. You might also experience moist from your tents.

Food & Water.

  • Trail food
    • chocolates, cookies, energy bars, fruits
  •  Pack-up food
    • Spam & rice
    • just in case you get hungry during the trek.
    • Easy & dry goods are the easy way to go. Light & small!
  • Water
    • Small bottled water are better than big gallons (it would be heavy to bring going up)
    • I suggest to bring 4L of water for the entire 2 day trek.
    • A Bladder would suffice for less hassle instead of water bottles.
